When I understood the vision and mission of Elixar, I was enchanted by its originality. I was also touched by its timely activation while the world is birthing a profound Transformation.
I feel a strong resonance with restoring our senses to mindfulness, to bring us ‘back to our senses’, both metaphorically and literally. In a time when society seems to be rapidly losing its sense and meaning, it is a healthy action to bring us back to sanity.
Focusing attention on the senses invites the Self to be guided by the intelligence of our intuition, informed by awakening the bodily experience. This exploration opens up to a marvellous world that elevates our soul.
These are messages to the world I can wholeheartedly support.
Filmmaking is my lifelong passion. Another one is contemplate the profound divinity of the Human Being. Together, they make a powerful and creative instrument of change.

Raúl and the Senses
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been deeply attuned to the senses.
Professionally, I chose to focus on Cinema, a realm that brings about the enchanting alchemy of sight and sound. A film encompasses the arts of music, language, and image, weaving a magical playground between the reality that surrounds us and the boundless creativity of human fantasy.
Nevertheless, my passion for delectable food and exotic aromas never waned. As an amateur cook, I’m captivated and seduced by the exoticism of spices, smells and flavours, which entice me in the everyday. I also continue to be enraptured by the language of touch, evoking passionate, electrifying, and profound sensations.
All these are the precious jewels bestowed by the alive senses, uncovering a eightened sensitivity where the mind and words lose their grip.
Filmmaking – the opportunity
While in high school, I somehow realised that media was a powerful catalyst. Historically, this has been repeatedly proven, and today it has become a dangerous tool of dominance and injustice.
Simultaneously, it is a positive instrument for education, consciousness and evolution. I dedicate my life to this purpose, fascinated by its outcomes.
A life path, always rolling
Raúl Álvarez is a Mexican-Canadian filmmaker with 45 years of professional experience as director, producer and editor.
Encompassing a wide range of projects and genres, from industrial and social documentary, television series and newscasts, to national and international short and feature films, public service announcements and advertising for television.
He has lived and worked in Canada and Italy for the last 18 and 10 years respectively.
In 2009 he made his debut as documentary director and independent producer with the feature film “Land Awakening”, a project about alternative agriculture that explores resilient relationships with the Land. Portraying characters of great wisdom promoting social and environmental change, the film is a poetic adventure through the colourful beauty of the Mediterranean.
With „Voice of the Soul“ (VOX), the lens brings you new perspectives
In 2019 Raúl launches “Voice of the Soul”, an original project offering private and unique films that promote personal self transformation.
Raúl has produced, directed and edited 70 individual short films to date, in Italy, Spain and Canada.
With the VOX project he combines his life passions for filmmaking and for the exploration of the Human Soul.
The VOX Project is his personal response to the very particular times of transformation we are experiencing today. This is the time to delve deeper into the evolutionary path and enter into the essence of our Being. Looking at yourself with a new perspective to become aware of your always present wisdom within your Self.
